Halloween 2017

Kalee dressed up and we did our nursing home visit today!  We also headed over to the memory care unit and those residents were also excited to see Kalee.  And she does love seeing all the people! 

The picture  below shows one of the residents (they asked me to take pic) and his daughter  who flew in from California and dressed up as a witch!  Her dad didn't recognize her nor did he know she was coming to town!  How sweet was that!  I'm going to print out the picture for him and take it over next week.   This is Kalee dressed in her Mini Mouse outfit!

And even Gigi got dressed up...she loves having dress up time!  Kalee not so much.  You can put anything on Gigi and she's quite happy.  She runs around, sleeps, goes potty and eats in her dresses!  So cute!

Yep, that about says it!  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We never forget

November 3, 1999 - September 2, 2011
This was one of Amber's overnight visits so we dressed Mandy up in a nightgown!

So hard to believe it's been six years since we lost our girl, Mandy!  She was a sweetheart...another rescue we adopted when she was about 18 months old.  Mandy went with me every Wednesday to watch Amber and Nick.  We had to leave early Wednesday mornings and it was the only time she would jump out of the bed when I got up.  Any other day, she would lay in bed if I got up first, but not on Wednesday!   We'll never forget.  This is a post I did last year.  What a doll!

Gigi's Gottcha Day!

Yep, today is two years since we adopted our little Gigi!!  She actually looks like a puppy here but the rescue figured she was about 2-3 years old.  So we figure she's around 5 - give or take!

And what she looks like today!  Well, her tongue isn't always out but you get the picture!

 You can read Gigi's adoption story here.  We just love our little girl and we're so grateful to Sandy and Glenn Veltman for allowing us to bring Gigi into our family!!!   These two pictures were taken when we picked Gigi up from Glenn and Sandy.  We loved her from the get go!

She certainly has been a really good dog once she learned she could actually walk on grass!  HA  I walked the streets in our subdivision many a night getting her to go potty before bed!  But she is such a quick study on learning other manners.  Just a doll!!!

Yes, you my little girl!!!  She is still a little dog aggressive if a dog barks or starts to lunge at her but we are making progress!!

And she loves her big sister, Kalee!!!

She has always made herself right at home from day one!

We just love our little girl and we are all so thankful to have each other!

Yep..our 'little' girl turns six years old today!!!

Hard to believe she has been with us since September 2011!  But her actual BD is July 2nd!  This was the picture we saw a day after Mandy passed and we just had to get Kalee!!!  You can read her first blog post here!

She was a doll and a real tiger during her puppy hood!

But we wouldn't trade her for anything!  She is my best friend and such a good dog...well, yes, she has her moments but it's just because she's so smart!

Sisters at play...and sleep!

Bob bought the girls a new bed and they sure are loving it!  The first night Gigi wouldn't let Kalee sleep in it!  Gigi didn't move for over 2 hours!!!

Then a day or so later,  Kalee found a good spot in the bed while Gigi was playing elsewhere!

Now they both sleep in it together!  OK, not all the time but they will cuddle together!

I'm going to go back to PetSmart and pick up a smaller one just like this one, which is 27" x 36".  The smaller one would be perfect for just one dog...when they don't want to share the big bed!

Halloween 2016

A beautiful night for Halloween!  It was in the 50's and so calm out!  Sure beats some of the past years where it was cold and raining!  Wasn't this the cutest decorated wagon!

The girls did great and stayed on their matts for the most part.  Gigi would let out a growl or bark now and then but actually did so good for her!  HA  Mandy used to love Halloween.  She loved seeing the kids....

I bought this outfit to fit one of the dogs and guess who it fits the best!  Gigi!!  How adorable is this!

Well, maybe she doesn't think so but I can't stop laughing!!!

It's Gigi's Gotcha Day!

One year ago we 'adopted' this little girl! 

Look at that face!  How could we not adopt her!!

Gigi is a lover and have given us so many smiles!

She is picky about certain men and children....but she does surprise us at times...she made up quickly to our neighbors son, Bryce!  But wanted to go after Bryce's dad...after he patted Bryce on his shoulder!  I think she was just protecting him!!

She has given us some challenges but she is worth every little extra effort it has taken to make her part of our family!

So Happy Gottcha Day, Gigi!!!  We love you and are so happy you belong to us!!!

Our time in Florida is over...

Well, Gigi and I have been so busy this winter.  Mom and dad take us on daily golf cart rides, mom takes us for rides in the car then for walks around town.  We each get to go on a dog walk with mom alone...actually, she has to take Gigi by herself because she gets nasty with other dogs, so mom is training her...but she's doing so much better now!  Take a look at what Gigi got to do tonight (I had to stay home with dad!).

Gigi got to play with Ranger in his back yard.  Ranger's mom, Elizabeth, is training him for agility.  He's doing really well from what mom said.

  Anyway, they ran and played and mom said Gigi never even barked at Ranger!

Mom does have pictures of me too!!   Well, a girl needs her beauty sleep!

But mostly it's pictures of Gigi and me!  That's ok...she's my sister now and my best friend.

Mom said we're leaving a week from today to go back home!  I miss some of my dog friends back home as well as our family and friends.  Maybe I'll have more time to post when we get home!  Maybe!

We're in Florida!

Yep...we are back in Florida.  Really we've been here since December 29th but mom is so busy she doesn't have time to write on our blog much!
Gigi is doing well here in Florida except she's getting really nasty with other dogs that walk or bark at us.  So, mom is going to take her to doggie school!  Woo hoo...glad it's not me!  I'm being the best dog I can be!  That's what mom says!
Gigi and I are having a good time with our walks (most of the time!), golf cart rides and mom takes us with her if it cool outside, for rides in the car.  She opens the sun roof for us if she stops somewhere.

We were helping mom blow out the candles n her BD cake!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wonder if we'll get scraps from dinner???  Knowing mom we won't !  Oh well! We can always clean up the floor of scraps for her!

We love snow!!!

Yep..Gigi and I love the snow!  We had over 12 inches of snow so far today (well, that's what mom told me...I don't know how to measure!).  Gigi and I played in the snow as often as mom would let us outside!  These are our pawprints from running around the yard this morning.  What fun!

Only problem, we would come back inside and have balls of snow all over our fur.  Which didn't thrill dad very much.  He still let us sit on his lap to rest!  But sometimes we would just lay on our matt and snuggle with each other.

We can't wait for tomorrow...hope there's still snow on the ground...mom said 12 inches of snow should be here for quite sometime!  At least another day or two!
